Lawza was born from a longing for home and the flavors that tell its story

Raised in a Moroccan-Algerian family, I grew up making pastries with my mother, filling our home with the scent of orange blossom & warm honey.

After moving to California, I found myself longing for those familiar flavors, so I began recreating our cherished family recipes - not only to satisfy my cravings, but to stay connected to my heritage.

Lawza was born from this desire: to celebrate tradition by sharing it with others, through pastries handcrafted with love and intention in small batches, just as my mother and I would make them back home.

The meaning behind our name

The word Lawzaلوزة – is derived from the Arabic for almond, a cherished ingredient in Moroccan pastry-making. Almonds are more than a flavor; they carry the warmth of hospitality and the joy of gathering, values that inspire every pastry we make.
